About the NMI Chapter
The Northern Mariana Islands (NMI) Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) will celebrate its 20 years in the CNMI on September 29, 1997. The objectives of our organization are:
- To promote fellowship and an opportunity for cooperative relationship between members and a better understanding of the mutual problems affecting those engaged in human resource work in industry, business and public service;
- To facilitate the continuing education and operating effectiveness of human resource professionals; and
- To promote and gain recognition of the high ethical standards and professionalism that define the human resource function.
We are a proud small chapter that has received many recognitions from SHRM National. We have also received many awards, including the Merit Award, Superior Merit Award, Excel Platinum and Gold Awards. Our chapter was also recognized by SHRM's Foundation as a 2010-2011 Chapter Champion for supporting their efforts to invest in the future of Human Resources.
