WORKPLACE FLEXIBILITY:  THE NEXT IMPERATIVE FOR BUSINESS SUCCESS

Workplace flexibility has become a key business strategy to leverage the talents and skills of today’s increasingly diverse, aging, and multi-generational workforce.  It is far more than telecommuting. Explore how flexible work arrangements such as job sharing, flexible scheduling and phased retirement can drive employee engagement, productivity, retention, and benefit your organization’s bottom line.   You will examine case studies of companies that have won the national Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility for their innovative programs and hear about new resources as a result of SHRM’s partnership with the Families and Work Institute, including the “When Work Works” initiative. This presentation does qualify for strategic credit for HRCI recertification.  Karen Verrico, SHRM’s Field Services Director will also provide a SHRM Update that shares the most recent activities that your professional association has accomplished on behalf of our members and the HR profession. There will also be time to ask questions about SHRM and how you can maximize your member benefits. So please join us for this member meeting.

About the Presenter: Karen Verrico, CAE, serves the SHRM membership as Field Services Director for the Pacific West Region and is based in the San Francisco, CA area. In this role, she works with the SHRM state councils and chapter to help implement the SHRM mission in CA, HI, AK, NV, the Pacific Council (GU and CNMI) and AZ. Karen has 30 years of association management experience with 18 years with SHRM or a SHRM field affiliate. Karen earned her MBA from Babson College in Wellesley, MA.  She is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
